Why did Adam and Eve not eat from the fruit of The Tree of Life in Genesis 2 and verse 9?
We all know the story of how first Man Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and how the sin entered into the mankind. So today lets look at the in the Light of the Holy Spirit.
Lord God created Heaven and Earth and created everything thereof and in Genesis 2:8
And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.Genesis 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food;

Genesis 2:9 and part 2 says Genesis 2:9 KJV
...the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
As per the verse God Planted two tress in the middle of the garden.1. The Tree of Life and 2. The tree of knowledge of good and evil. and God gave following commandment to the man Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: [17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.God told Adam that he should not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil but God did not stop him from eating the fruit of the Tree of Life.
We all know when God gave this commandment, Eve was not made and He gave the commandment to Adam.(How the woman was beguiled we will see in another topic) now Eve gave fruit to Adam and he ate and then sin entered in mankind. As per Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: This means Adam never ate the fruit of Tree of Life, my question is why? Let me shed light on this, that Adam did not eat the fruit on the first day itself it took time and there was something that did not appeal to Adam that he ate of all the other fruits but did not eat the fruit of the Tree of life.
Speculation 1.
Maybe because it was in the no-go zone that means it was near the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but that is not so, since Eve went there first and took the fruit and ate it and also gave to her husband Adam.Genesis 3:6 KJV
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. This means that they went there.
Speculation 2.
He did not know which one's which, meaning which one is The Tree of Life and which one is the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Not so since, Genesis 3:4-6 KJV And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. [6] And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
When God commanded Adam of not to eat of the fruit of that tree Eve was not there but, still knew that this is the tree since in Genesis 3:4-6 Serpent talked to Eve about that tree they were near that tree and she saw that the tree is good for food, and pleasant to the eyes and able to make one wise.
Then what was it that made them not eat the fruit of The Tree of Life?
Speculation 3.
Maybe the tree was not pleasant to sight. In reality The Tree of Life was Pleasant to sight as per Genesis 2:9 but, for some reason it did not appeal to Adam and Eve and it was not pleasant to their eyes, because Eve saw tree of knowledge of good and evil and said it is pleasant to site but not to The Tree of Life.
Let me tell you first who that Tree is? That tree is none other than Lord Jesus Christ. John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If Adam and Eve would have eaten the fruit of the Tree of Life they would have lived forever without any sin as per Genesis 3:22.
Why the Tree of Life was not pleasant to their site?
Let me share my experience. I was like any other believer. I walked in Glory every Sunday and there used to be a lot of Anointing of Holy Spirit, thick Presence, but I was not connected to the plan of God, because I never had a prayer relationship with God. I was saved by Grace but didn't value it. I knew that there is some plan of God over my life and that I want to do something for the Lord, but never did anything,because never just didn't feel like. Most important I never sought the Lord as the bible says in Matthew 6:33 KJV But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; ...
It is only when I lacked all of it, I realized the importance of God's Presence, God's Glory and the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Then I started praying and repenting and seeking the Lord. After about two years of prayers God made me a new creation who started valuing Him and His plan of salvation. I'm still learning to value and I still cannot value enough. Its a continuous process.Prayer is very important to have a relationship with God.
Whenever we are not connected to God in prayer the things of God do not look interesting or pleasant to us. We are unable to comprehend the plan of God unless we are connected to him in prayer. You will see this in non praying Christians they are not interested in God or in any plan that God has purposed for their lives. Here Eve knew God through Adam and did not know him directly since she is adding her own words to God's commandment. She added you shall not touch it, when God never said that. Genesis 3:3 KJV But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die, But the actual commandment is Genesis 2:16-17 KJV is And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: [17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
When we are not in prayer we tend to add our own words to his commandments where are we are not allowed to add or remove even a single word. Revelation 22:18-19 KJV
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
So whenever we are not connected to God in prayer and do not have a relationship we tend to dislike the things of God and sometimes very plan of God that is Salvation for our lives, like they rejected The Tree of Life. When they rejected life they actually rejected Jesus Christ. Are we doing the same thing? God has given us choice are we being ignorant of His love for us ? are we ignorant of His salvation? Are we choosing life over sin? Are we acknowledging God in all the ways of our life? Are we having love relationship with God or need based prayer relationship?
I leave it up to you to answer it all, but if your answer is no then please repent and turn back to God, turn back to Jesus.Start acknowledging Him in all your ways and choose Life.
Summary:
God made all the trees good for food and pleasant to sight, but Eve and Adam didn't find so and choose tree of knowledge of good and evil. Through Adam sin entered in mankind and through Jesus God and gave everlasting life.Through Adam death came and though Jesus Life came.
No prayer life leads to having no relationship with God and No relationship with God leads to disliking the plan of God and choosing death over everlasting life. If you see yourself falling short then, repent and turn back to God.

Dear Lord, I confess that I am a sinner, Please forgive all my sins. Please wash me by the precious blood of Jesus, cleanse me make me pure whiter than snow and holy. Jesus, I welcome you in my life and in my heart. Holy Spirit, I welcome your in my life and in my heart. I declare that Jesus is my Lord and my personal savior. Come into my life. Change me and save me. Father I payer this prayer in Jesus name... Amen.
